Powers:
Kiria has two entire skeletons that are mostly hidden beneath her skin. She has the ability to pull her secondary skeleton out of her body so that it becomes visible on the outside of her body. This
secondary skeleton has the appearance of a large hulking demon and has the density three times that of steal; this makes it almost impervious to damage. Because of her power her body re-knits her skin and muscle tissue back together at a slightly elevated rate but it leaves scars.
Power Limitations:
Whenever Kiria either draws out or sends back the secondary skeleton she causes minor injury to herself, that is everywhere but the head. If she tries to send back the skull any more then she normally has it
[so it takes on the appearance of a helmet] she causes tremendous, possibly fatal, damage to herself. If nothing is done in a very short time she will bleed to death.
Hobbies and Interests: Scavenging for food/water/cloth, sewing, brawling.
Background:
Kiria’s parents were forced to marry when it turned out that Mary [Kiria’s mother] was pregnant. Things was not easy between Mary and Harold [Kiria’s father] as both had wicked tempers, in an average
argument Mary would throw things at Harold and Harold would just beat up Mary till she was black-and-blue. So it was surprising when Mary managed to hold the baby till full term.
But there was no joy at Kiria’s birth, in fact she tended to be ignored and in general miss treated from the
moment she got home. As her parents were too cheap to buy formula and Mary didn’t want anything to do with the baby Kiria was fed regular cow milk. Somehow no matter what her parents did or not did Kiria continued to gain weight and grow at a healthy rate, and as they never left lasting marks on the baby the abuse was never caught.
When Kiria learned to walk she was quick to find places where she could hide because if she were ever caught in the wrong place at the wrong time she would get beaten, both physically and mentally and
emotionally. This hardened her up quickly at such a young age.
Kiria never went to school, as her parents didn’t want to risk the abuse being noticed so they home schooled her. But after they taught her to read and write they soon lost interest once again in her and
she left to teach herself.
By the time she was eight both her parents were major alcoholics and would pass out so much that Kiria had to find her own food to eat, sometimes she would slip outside at night and go through the trash
cans of the neighborhood to find things to eat.
When she turned eleven her powers caused the second skeleton to literally rip out of her body causing major bleeding. Because Kiria was seen by a neighbor her parents brought her to the hospital, albeit
reluctantly as they didn’t want to get in trouble with the authorities. When she was released back to her parent’s custody they took her right home and locked her into the basement. To make sure Kiria would be unable to fight back they shackled her up tightly to the walls. That way when the abuse got even worse, rather then her parents hit or throw things at each other they used Kiria as a scapegoat for everything.
Over then next four years Kiria was badly abused, but after one particular violent beating by her father Kiria noticed that one of the many shackles was loose. She spent every waking moment she could,
struggling to break free. Then one day her shackles broke free and Kiria climbed up and out one of the small windows and ran away to never look back.
The past year she has made a home for herself in an abandoned building, gathering rainwater in buckets to drink, rummaging in dumpsters to eat, and scavenging for cloth to make clothing and blankets with. Even though it was exceedingly hard life it was still much better then what she had ran away from.
Over the year that she had been living on the streets Kiria put the money in a hiding place that she won from the cage and pit fighting. She didn’t trust the bank or anything like that so she kept it on her
at all times, she would just get the bills exchanged into $100 dollar bills. With her mutation she was good at the cage and pit fighting, it also helped to refine her hand-to-hand fighting.
She then heard about some posh school and decided to get some information on it. She knew that she didn’t want to live on the streets her entire life so some form of an education would be needed.
She had been offered a full scholarship but she didn’t trust them not to use it as a way to force her into doing something she would normally say no to so she decided to pay the tuition with the cash she
had managed to earn. Sure it was not the best work but considering she didn’t have any real education it was the only thing she assumed she could do.
So that is how she found herself at this posh school, not sure if it was the best fit for her but she would give it a shot. It was a lot of money but she knew that this school would be the only shot that a little nobody homeless girl with no formal education would get. If she failed at this then she would have to go back to cage and pit fighting.
Personality: Kiria has had a hard life, which has caused her to have a rather dark view on it. She comes across as stubborn, hostile, and confrontational as she has zero trust in anyone. If she does learn to
accept and trust someone then she is exceedingly loyal to them, she would even go so far as to hurt herself for them but this has not happened as of yet. She does tend to hold a grudge and sees any offer
of help or even a gift as having strings attached. Even though she has grown used to being alone and hated it does not mean she likes it.
Special Notes: Sometimes Kiria would join underground cage or pit fighting to get some cash.
