Poultry Contest
This is a regional qualifying contest in 2024. Teams will first compete in a virtual screener exam on February 29 to determine the top 12 schools that can complete in-person on March 22 at FVTC. This is a state qualifying contest with the top teams advancing to the State CDE Contest. Placement of teams will be determined by tabulating the three highest scores of contestants from the school. One team per school.

The contest will be organized in the following classes:
Class 1: 4 broilers to be placed on meat quantity and quality
Class 2: Due to Avian Flu, there will not be live birds to judge
Class 3: Grading—10 poultry parts or carcasses
Class 4: Place 4 poultry carcasses
Class 5: 10 interior eggs to grade
Class 6: 10 eggs for exterior grading
Class 7: Written factors on exterior eggs
Class 8: Evaluate 10 plates of boneless further processed product
Class 9: Evaluate 10 plates of bone-in further processed product
Class 10: 10 poultry parts to identify
Class 11: 30-question written test on the poultry industry
There will be a maximum of four members per team or a minimum of three members per team.
Team score will be the highest score from the top three individuals. Low score out.

Each school may enter one team.
Contestants are to assemble at the J.J. Keller Transportation Center T180 North Inspection Bay by 8:45AM. Contest will begin at 9:00AM.
