HoFMeister's Report for 2024
This is the second year of this Table, after its launch last year for the 2023 peak-bagging year. People contacted me after the publication of the 2023 Table with their appreciation for providing a new challenge for British and Irish peak-baggers. It slots in with the British and Irish Marilyns Tables so as to provide a full picture of the quirky P150m peak-bagging scene for people living in these islands.Â
Â
Seventeen people make their appearance in the 2024 Table. I welcome Daniel Quinn and Brent Lynam into the Hall of Bronze. Brent’s surge of 119 new P150m peaks was very notable, beating by a comfortable margin Rob Woodall’s 92. Daniel Quinn, now returned to Britain after years in the Far East, has banked his many peaks in Indonesia and beyond to join this Hall. The HoFMeister also managed to find his way in.
Â
At their current pace, another three people look likely to join the Hall of Bronze in 2025. We stand ready to welcome them, with our drinking horns raised to toast their arrival.
Â
In the Upper Halls, Denise McLellan joins Richard in the Hall of Gold. As for Rob Woodall, he is poised to leave the Hall of Emerald empty, as he looks likely to be opening the doors of the Hall of Ruby in 2025.  Â
Â
The divide in the Tables between the 'professionals', represented in the Halls of Emerald, Gold and Silver, and part-time RoW peak-baggers in the Hall of Bronze, is clearly marked again in the 2024 Table. There is a gap of 325 peaks between Martin Richardson and Pete Ellis.Â
I am pleased to announce that nobody joined the Hall of Memorial in 2024.Â
