 MONTS du MORVAN

The Monts du Morvan, in Burgundy, form the highest point in arc of uplands which connect the Massif Central to the Vosges.  They are situated in the Départements of Côte d’Or, Nièvre, Saone-et-Loire and Yonne.

The Monts du Morvan are rounded forested hills composed mainly of granite and basalt.  There are extensive Celtic remains on some of the hills in the range - for example Mont Beuvray (821m).

The highest in the group is Haut-Folin ( 901m).

For further information, see the official website (in French) of the Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan at http://www.parcdumorvan.org/index.php
