Chacko died of old age in the year 1969. He breathed his last in the Thiruvalla Mission Hospital. The dead body was burried at the kavalam Church cemetery.

Vakkachan's family after selling this property migrated to Nedumangadu.

Thoamaachi, the youngest of Thommi's sons married PUTHU-KKARI-YIL ROSSAMMA from Muttu-chira and settled in Mambalam homestead.

Generally speaking, the financial position of the MAMBALAM FAMILY was not all that stable. The descendants were not as fortunate as their ancestors. As I mentioned earlier, the Mambalam homestead was a disused temple. There is talk about it among the old folks that the ill effects of living in such a place might be at fault.

TENTH GENERATION

Thommichan's (Kunjammi) third son Appachan died at a young age.

The youngest of Kunjammi's sons was Koshy. He was brilliant in his studies and was an extremely religious person even as a young boy. Koshy after completing his B.A.L.T. joined the Propaganda Seminary and went on to become a priest. He served as a priest in Changanacherry. He was vigorous and astute in his work, and did his duties arduously without expecting any reward. The imprint left by Koshy Achan upon the Brechmans institutions of Changanacherry are still visible. The Diocese authorities understood Koshy Achan's administrative ablities and honesty, and appointed him as the head of all the diocese educational institutions and the trustee of the Berchmans institutions. By nature Koshy Achan was reserved and did not interfere in anybody's intrests. He was also a calm and collected person. This teacher priest carried out all the jobs entrusted to him with exacting honesty and sincerity. He was an enthusiastic social worker too. His plenteous donations were a catalyst for the growth of many institutions in the diocese. For the Changanacherry orphanage Koshy Achan is an unforgettable individual. The Clarist Convent in Kannady is established on the property donated by Fr. Koshy. Through his excellent and noble services, the diocese's educational institutions which were in its infancy prospered.

After his death what was found in his possession were a few prayer books and a couple of habits. This altruist who in appearance and deeds was quiescent , when he became old retired from all activities and lived as an ascetic at Pallam. Renouncing all worldly connections and living a life of prayer he departed from this world to be with the LORD. He was buried in Pallam itself where he led a retired life.
