Memberships / Activities

I served in my church outreach program for 4 years during high school. Our mission was to go out into the community and complete tasks for the elderly or disabled. I was in charge of activities such as:

• House Repair
• Mowing and Weeding
• Painting
• Construction of wheel chair ramps

These activities not only bettered the community around me, they also taught valuable lessons in humility, work ethic, and the importance of showing compassion to others. None of the tasks that I was asked to complete drastically changed the lives of those involved, yet they helped me to understand what it meant to do something for someone else at a time when I was very focused on myself.
