Functions
To keep operators hands away from the saw blade while feeding timber (Regulations say last 300mm of the cut)
Used to remove off cuts and pieces from around the saw blade, especially between the saw and the fence.
Consider
(a) Push sticks must be used for the last 300mm of any cut.
(b) In some situations (especially with small pieces or when deep cutting) two push sticks (one in each hand) can be used to guide timber through saw.
(c) When cutting triangular glue blocks using a jig, two push sticks help hold the timber in the jig and feed the timber through the saw at the same time.
(d) Special push sticks and holders are required for special cuttings such as wedges
