Students need to be aware of the types of saw blade available and their intended purpose. You should be able to name all the parts of a saw tooth and understand the use of positive and negative hook blades. Should understand the peripheral speeds.
(A) is the pitch of the tooth and is the circumference divided by the number of teeth
(B) is the hook of the tooth, negative in this case could be positive hook for a rip saw
(C) is the gullet and clears away the saw dust from the saw kerf
(D) is the face of the Tungsten Carbide tip on this cross cut blade
