(a) Push sticks must be used for the last 300mm of any cut.
(b) In some situations (especially with small pieces or when deep cutting) two push sticks (one in each hand) can be used to guide timber through saw.
(c) When cutting triangular glue blocks using a jig, two push sticks help hold the timber in the jig and feed the timber through the saw at the same time.
(d) Special push sticks and holders are required for special cutting such as wedges

Push sticks are around 450mm long with a hand hold at one end and a knotch at the other used for feeding timber saw over the last 300mm of the cut.
