Hollow ground for dimension sawing and finished work.

Hollow ground (and tungsten tipped) saws do nor require setting as the saw doesn’t bind in the saw kerf. This reduces the size of the saw kerf and thus the amount of timber lost in the sawing operation.

Hollow ground saws are not as ‘strong’ as normal plate saws and buckle easily if over stressed by feeding the timber too quickly.
