Podcasts

A podcast is a digital or electronic audio or video file that are released as episodes and can be downloaded (most commonly through web syndication) to a computer or mobile device such as a smartphone, I Touch or a tablet such as an I Pad.  Podcasts can be used in the dissemination of audio or video broadcasts to the public.  Podcasts have several unique and practical uses in the realm of education.  They can be created by educators or the students themselves.


Podcasts  Created by Educators can be used for:

Weekly Previews to material that will be learned in class

A class lecture, lesson, or activity in audio or video formats

Student cross curricular, standard-based projects demonstrating mastery of key concepts and skills

Professional development and training videos (Webinars) to be posted on a website for teachers, staff, or students

Informational videos to be posted on a website

Audio-visual workshops to be presented at conferences
