Useful things to be aware of

"There is no patient-specific data in QMAS because this is not required to support the QOF. For example, QMAS captures aggregate information for each practice on patients with coronary heart disease and on patients with diabetes, but it is not possible to identify or analyse information about individual patients. It is not possible, for example, to identify the number of patients with both of these diseases." p11 of QOF Achievement and Prevalence Bulletin 2010/2011

"The diabetes register (indicator DM19) was redefined for 2006/07 to state that GPs should be able to identify patients as having either Type I or Type II diabetes. However, the QOF diabetes register does not distinguish between Type I and Type II diabetes." p25 of QOF Achievement and Prevalence Bulletin 2010/2011
