There is no diary for the year 1919 in the family. If Ben kept one, it has been lost.

In October, Anna's brother David came back to Michigan for a visit. The following article from the 'Northville Record' of Friday October 10, 1919.

Bennett's father-in-law, C. Eugene Clarkson, died December 13, 1919 at the family home at 324 South Wing Street, Northville. He was buried 3 days later at the Oakwood (Cady Street) Cemetery in the Clarkson plot. His obituary from the Northville Record on December 19, 1919 reads:
