Even though drones and UAVs have been out and in use for some time, the conflict in Ukraine (beginning in 2022) saw the wide scale use of OTS (Off The Shelf) commercial drones as weaponized military assets, a trend that has even been picked up by drug cartels in Latin America. The use OTS drones used for military or other nefarious purposes is not going away and will only continue to expand.
