Description

Design and construction of a new light manufacturing building with incorporated cafeteria and office areas. The building consolidates all mechanical piping related operations for 737, 767 and 747 aircraft in the Puget Sound area, including receiving, bending, degreasing, storage and distribution.

Schedule

One year Nine months for design and construction; Partial owner occupancy obtained eight months after construction start

Statistics

• 200 KSF square foot building with incorporated office and cafeteria areas
• 35 foot to 45 foot high bay ceiling heights
• Utilities include high/low pressure steam, high/low pressure natural gas, chilled/process water, argon/oxygen gases, and boiler generated hot water
• Summer climate control obtained from large cooling tower, chiller, and supply/return fan system
• Pipe degreasing operations installed at two environmentally controlled pit locations

• Partial owner occupancy obtained on schedule eight short months from construction start

• Relocation of entire pipe bending shop to new facility without interference or delay to ongoing manufacturing operations
