Description

National development of all private prison greenfield and expansion projects, plus maintenance management of all operating facilities. Complexes typically include two-story dorm or cell living areas for inmates, supported by education, intake, Vo-tech, spiritual, warehouse and security administration areas, as well as complete medical, laundry, recreation and kitchen/dining facilities. All compounds are designed and maintained to house minimum/medium security risk inmates.

Schedule

Timelines range from ~ 10 months for design/construct of a single housing unit to ~ 18 months for design/construct of a 4 housing unit campus. Property locating, vetting, acquisition and entitlement can range from 1 to 2 years

Budget

Costs range from ~ $12 Million for a single housing unit to ~ $100 Million for a 4 housing unit campus with new offsite utilities and all required support buildings

Statistics

• Each housing unit can accommodate ~ 300 (cell) to 500 (dorm) inmates
• Housing units comprise ~ 50 KSF of enclosed space
• Cells can be 100% prefabricated and transported to the construction site for installation
• Approximately 30 acres of property is required for every 1,000 inmates
• Each total campus build-out can accommodate between 3,000 and 4,0000 inmates total
• Technology based security can include remote cameras, electronic locks, intercoms, vibration sensing cable, biometric sensors and microwaves, all monitored and operated via touch screens in secured rooms
• A 1,000 inmate campus can comprise 300 KSF of enclosed space behind over 12 miles of razor wire
