Description

Modeling, planning, design and construction/installation of baggage screening equipment (EDS – Explosive Detection System and ETD – Explosive Trace Detection) and baggage handling equipment at all major Northeastern United States airports in support of homeland security following the tragedy of 911. With the installation of this Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mandated equipment, 100% of all checked passenger baggage will be screened for explosives at all major commercial/federal airports in the Northeastern United States (as well as across entire United States)

• Over 25,000 passenger and baggage screening employees trained on program nationwide
• 100% baggage screening capability deployed at 85 Northeastern U.S. airports on schedule (429 airports across U.S. completed on schedule)
• 1,150 Explosive Detection Systems (EDS) and 5,675 Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) units installed nationwide
• Over 12,000 pieces of equipment maintained at airports across United States

Selected Achievements

• At introduction to program, provided survey of Northeast U.S. region schedule, budget and quality controls, completing appropriate adjustments to ensure most quality, timely and cost effective deliveries possible
• Supervised direct staff of seven project managers in addition to support teams, engineering and contractor personnel
• Drafted and implemented improved change program, with possible 65% reduction in process time
• All work completed within required schedule and budget requirements
