Interaction with this cross section of discipline and company types has provided solid experience in building and maintaining numerous structure classifications, including MANUFACTURING FACILITIES, CLASS A and CORPORATE OFFICES, medical facilities, high rise hotels, shopping malls, water and WASTE WATER FACILITIES, AIRPORTS, FINANCIAL CENTERS, NUCLEAR FACILITIES, and more recently CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES and re-entry multi-person centers, which are VERY SIMILAR to MULTIFAMILY.
Due to this unique blend of employer and building type experience, Mr. Cotant possesses an invaluable “umbrella” of knowledge, capabilities and insight for large building and campus development/expansion programs. This is evidenced by very recent efforts where he reduced overall new campus build costs by 23% ($28M) while increasing complex enclosed space by 100,000 SF.
Responsibilities have typically included overall accountability for Department Profit/Loss as well as Budget/Financial, Schedule, Quality, Safety and Personnel, with individual projects up to $200M, and individual programs over $1B. The majority of Mr. Cotant’s development efforts have been completed under tight timeline and budget requirements, where he implemented management techniques such as phased fast-track scheduling efforts to meet deadlines and earned value cost tracking methods to ensure monetary control.
Mr. Cotant is currently providing executive real estate management services to a start-up company, which acquires and leases residential and light commercial buildings on a national scale. He has developed and leads a team of professionals in all arenas of real estate, including real estate acquisition / disposition / leasing, building and campus design and construction, and facility maintenance. He holds a Construction Engineering degree from Montana State University, along with Minors in Industrial Engineering and Business Accounting. He is a licensed Civil Engineer and Certified Program Manager.
