Driving Directions*

• 1. take US 36 to Table Mesa

  2. turn left on Table Mesa

  3. follow Table Mesa until it veers right, then left and becomes NCAR Road

  4. follow NCAR Road to the trailhead

     • on the right side of the road just before NCAR itself

Hiking Directions*

• 1. from NCAR, take the Walter Orr Roberts trail

  2. follow the trail until it meets up with Mesa Trail

     • take a left (south)

  3. Mesa will eventually split into Bear Canyon Trail and Fern Canyon Trail

     • follow Fern Canyon

  4. summit Bear Peak

  5. Return
