The hitman Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) frequently quotes Ezekiel 25:17 in Pulp Fiction, but, in fact, he has greatly altered the biblical passage. The actual passage reads:
"And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them."
Here's what Jules says, adding bits from the 23rd Psalm and his own rhetoric, in peculiar syntax:
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides with the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and with furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."
[Gospel of St Thomas]
