This emblem was designed by an ethnic Han designer. Tujia people worship white tigher and offer sacrifices to the White Tiger Deity every year. A Tujia saying is "A white tiger is sitting in the middle of parlor. It is the deity of house". Many places where Tujia people reside are named by white tiger. The figures of tiger are carved on Tujia people's utensils. The moves of tiger also appear in Tujia's traditional dance: Sarlho. This "White Tiger Totem" illustrates Tujia people's spirits of diligence, simple-heart, bravery, and hardiness.
