Ethnic Lahu Chinese 拉祜族

This emblem was designed by an ethnic Lahu Chinese designer. Gourd is worshiped by ethnic Lahu Chinese. The Lahu folk epic Mopa Mipa has a legend saying that a gourd generates man. Lusheng dance is performed on Lahu traditional festivals such as Gourd Festival. The gourd in this emblem is decorated by traditional Lahu purfles used on Lahu long dress. This emblem emblematizes the origin of human beings and Lahus ancestors, the beauty of female, prosperous reproduction, and felicity.

葫芦是拉祜族的崇拜物，拉祜族民间史诗《牡帕密帕》就有葫芦生人的神话传说。拉祜族节日跳芦笙舞，澜沧县还过“葫芦节”。由葫芦和长衣裳花边装饰纹样所组成的图案，象征人类的起源和拉祜族始祖的由来，也象征女性美和人丁兴旺、生活幸福。
