This emblem was designed by an ethnic Hani designer. The Hani people worship the silver pheasant. According to Hani legend, a silver pheasant once carried efficacious medicine to save an old sick man who was lying under a tree. To commemorate this silver pheasant, the old man imitated the dance of silver pheasant, using banana leaves as pheasant wings. And it became a traditional Hani's "Silver Pheasant Dance". The Hani people deem the silver pheasant as a symbol of auspiciousness and felicity. When Hani people move out of a village, a young silver pheasant is used to guide the direction. The terrace is a creation of Hani's agricultural culture. The silver pheasant and the rerrace in this emblem represent Hani's wisdom, hardworking and bright future.

Hani Longstreet Feast on Mar-Ang-Twu Festival (Hani New Year). Each family brings it best food to the longest street of the village. Villagers then start to enjoy the food for free. If a family's food is deemed not tasty or if only a few people eat that family's food, then that family will lose face.
