Cheshire Park Updates this Summer!

The City of Delaware Parks and Recreation Department shared with the HOA Board that mid-to-late summer they will be replacing the playtoy structure and swings, replacing the borders & mulch, and adding a new play element.  The city will first need to remove the exisiting elements a few weeks prior making room for their contractor to install the new elements.

The city has also agreed to pick up the trash at Winding Valley Park on a weekly basis.  Please do not ignore the sign on the receptacle that says "NO PET WASTE".  Please carry your pet waste to your own tip-cart. Thank you in advance!

Letter to the community:  RE: Accusations Against Board

2/1/24:  2024 Event Dates:  Annual HOA Meeting 4/15/24 (Notices will be mailed/emailed).  Annual Garage Sale dates 6/7-/6/9/24

1/15/24 Please note that Patrick Fulton has been appointed the HOA Board as of today.  Patrick will take over the term for Robyn Kinford.

1/5/2024  Happy New Year Neighbors!  Just a note to let you know that Robyn Kinford has resigned from the HOA Board.  We thank him for his faithful service!  The Board has 60 days to appoint a replacement for his term.  Once that occurs, we will post that here and update the Board Information section of the website.

11/9/23 : During the week of 11/26, our contractor will be conducting Rip Rap installation at the pond on our premises, in order to repair erosion and prevent further erosion of the pond bank. This is an essential maintenance activity to ensure the integrity of our pond.

Please be advised that for safety reasons, it is crucial that individuals do not enter the pond area while the installation is in progress. We anticipate that the work will take approximately 4-5 days to complete depending on weather.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this restriction of the pond area.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Signage recently posted (8/24/23) to warn visitors to watch their step in this area.

Cheshire Crossing West Pond Update

7/10/23:

Please be advised the HOA Board is currently investigating, along with the City and other experts,  how to assure  that the structural integrity of the storm water retention pond is not being adversely impacted by muskrats and/or groundhogs that have taken residence near the banks of the pond.  At this time, the Board has paused using any pest control/removal services.   As we have updates, information will be posted here.  Final plan information (including costs) will be posted here, as well as mailed/emailed to all residents.

7/11/23:

Board member met with AquaDoc (HOA vendor for treating/maintaining the man-made storm water retention pond at Cheshire Crossing West , see photo to right). Her report (which will be shared) will most likely comment on muskrat/groundhog damage causing erosion in some areas of the pond bank. She was also concerned that the animals will eventually try to chew through the powerline to the fountain and recommends we look into a braided cable.

Received e a call back from SCRAM (https://www.ohiowildlifecenter.org/scram/) after 2 weeks and they are not able to assist.  They only help if an animal is getting access to a structure.

7/12/23:

Board remember met with two City of Delaware officials, well versed in pond maintenance and storm water retention today.  City officials will provide a report on recommendations, which will be to repair to areas of erosion damage and let grass (and other vegetation grow) at least 18 inched high 2-3 foot from the water.  This will strengthen the root system of the bank.  Our landscape manager from Benchmark was also in attendance. She will provide quotes for work in that area to be completed this fall.

Total costs for signage and Rip-Rap installation approximately $10K from capital funds.

Community Garage Sales 2023 will be June 2-4th.

Flashers to be installed at Cheshire Rd. & Cheshire Crossing Dr.

The city notified the HOA that RRFB system will be installed by the end of October 2021 at the the crosswalk across Cheshire Rd. (Intersecting Cheshire Crossing Drive.) The city had been completing these in the spring around the city and the HOA asked (multiple times) to be included. This will improve the safety of our children and residents who cross bust Cheshire Rd. Click photo to learn more.
