I've worked in a variety of painting media including oil, watercolor, and airbrush. I enjoy them all.
This 48" x 36" airbrush painting that I call "Irish Triptic" is based on photographs that I took in Ireland. This montage took over a year to complete. I used just about every airbrush technique I know on the painting. I cut frisket, I free painted and I sprayed paint though real lace and dried flowers to create some of the effects.
Flower Paintings
The 5" x 5" Oil Painting of orange flowers was donated to the Art Center of the Ozarks (ACO). It was auctioned on November 4, 2010 along with many other donated paintings to raise money for the ACO. It received four bids and it was sold.
This 36" x 24" airbrush painting of an orchid (left) was done on commission to match the decor of the customer's room.
The 16" x 24" Watercolor (Left) was painted in my studio using a Chinese Design book for the turtle decoration on the pot and real tulips.
I purchased the interesting frame with a very uninteresting painting in it. Since it was done on stretched canvas, I sanded it lightly and then did the painting of one of my orchid plants in a blue pot over the original painting.
Architectural Paintings
I did this 16" x 22" watercolor painting from a photograph I took of a house on a very busy street. There was no place to set up and paint.
Pots and Ceramics
36" x 24 " airbrush painting called "In a Crowd and Blue - Alone and Glad". This painting was based on a photo of white lamp bases that were stored behind a shop in Boaz, AL. I changed them to pots and added the gladiola.
The 5" x 5" oil painting of a blue pot with grapes was donated to the ACO and was auctioned as a part of a fundraising event. It received 5 bids and was sold.
My Sci-Fi Period
The 16" x 20" airbrush painting of an exploding blueberry muffin is called "The Cosmic Muffin".
The 16" x 24" airbrush Painting of sleeping robots is called "Machine Dreams"
Both are done with airbrush.
