We could not be more proud of our bear family than we are right now. When the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Sacramento (LLS) came to us and asked for our help in raising funds for cancer research and patient services, we said "of course!" What a great way to show our Bear Character traits of caring, responsibility and trustworthiness! As a school, we set out to raise $500 in a two-week period, just by collecting pennies (and other change and bills) and bringing them to school. $500 would help pay for the medicine and transportation that one person would need, ALL YEAR LONG! What a great gift! As we collected pennies, our Youth & Family Resource Center (YFRC) collected the money each week, totaled it up and reported back, so we had the drive to keep on going. The final count was...

$1,182.88!
That is 237% of our original goal! How amazing! We sent the money off to LLS this week and are so pleased to have helped. In recognition of our hard work, Ms. Sardelich and Mr. Richardson's classes earned pizza parties, and they along with Ms. Smith, Mr. Saechou and Mr. Kreutz's classes have earned special LLS banners for meeting the $100 and $200 goals alone. We can't wait for next year!
