A Note from Our Principal

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year at Bret Harte Elementary! It is truly an honor to serve the Bret Harte students, families and communities.
Bret Harte Elementary has a commitment to ensuring that we provide a safe, nurturing learning environment for all children. Our passion is educating children and everything we do at Bet Harte is based around ensuring that your child receives a quality education.

The teachers and staff at Bret Harte are dedicated to ensuring that your child(ren) receives a quality education in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. All children participate in music each week. We offer reading tutoring through our partnership with Reading Partners; special education services; a Gifted and Talented program (GATE); Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA); and a Student Support Center for basic, health, and mental health supports; among other programs and activities, to ensure support for all children.
In addition, we believe the strongest partnership we can build is between school and families. Bret Harte staff are part of the Parent Teacher Home Visit Project, in which we visit families to learn more about the students. We also welcome parents and family members to visit us - we love having you on campus!. Without our parent volunteers we could not sustain our Parent Resource Room and school garden.
We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to many successful and productive experiences in learning!
