Reading Partners has been working with schools in the greater Sacramento metro area since the fall of 2009.Our Reading Partners reading center is staffed by an experienced Reading Partners Site Coordinator, who communicates with the school staff, understands student needs, and guides volunteer tutors.
Volunteer Tutors with the Reading Partners program meet once per week with their student to help improve their skills in English Language Arts and increase their enjoyment of reading.
Students receiving Reading Partners services are referred by their teacher or through the Student Success Team process.
Dominguez Dream Partnership
The Dominguez Dream (formerly Vanir Foundation) was founded in 2004 in memory of H. Frank Dominguez, a businessman, leader and philanthropist who started his own company at the age of 25. Mr. Dominguez was not only successful in business, but believed in education as the way to a better life for all.
In 2013, the Dominguez Dream Foundation adopted Bret Harte as one of eight schools that it would support with funds, curriculum and other support. Each year Vanir provides funding for school uniforms and holiday food baskets; the installation of a science laboratory, science related field trips and the Engineering is elementary program, which exposes students to a wide variety of engineering concepts through applied learning project.
We are so thankful for our partnership!
