The first project of the year for Statistics is the Weekly Survey. Students will work in groups of two and will present the results of their survey to the class (details below). Each group presents once and one (or possible two) groups will present each week during the first semester. Please use the following guidelines for the Weekly Survey:
You and a partner are to collect, organize and statistically analyze data based on a survey that you devise.
The survey should contain no less than 5 questions and you should survey at least 30 people.
All survey questions must be approved by Mr. Brandt and
Mr. Perryman prior to performing the survey. Please plan your time accordingly.
The analysis of your data must be performed using all of the appropriate tools and techniques that have been learned in class up to the time of presentation. Note that this will be different depending on when you present.
You will present your results and your analysis to the class. Your presentation should include visual information as well as oral components. Use of PowerPoint is encouraged, but not mandatory.
Your presentation will be graded on thoroughness, accuracy, appropriate use of statistics and professional presentation.
