Grading Policy
1. CONCEPT QUIZZES~ 50%
Concept Quizzes will occur approximately every other week. Each concept will be worth 10 pts. and students will have multiple
opportunities to demonstrate mastery of each concept. The score earned for each concept will be the average of the two highest
grades that a student earns for that concept.
2. SEMESTER FINAL ~ 20-25%
There will be a semester final near the end of each semester.
3. CLASSWORK ~ 5%
Individual assignments will be graded and turned in for credit. At times, five point quizzes on the previous day’s assignment may be given. You must work on each assignment. Classwork may include, worksheets, Excel problems, and other assignments as assigned.
4. PROJECTS ~ 20-25%
There will be three major projects done during the year, two during Semester 1 and one at the end of the year. During Semester 1, you will prepare, administer, analyze and present a relatively small survey. At the end of Semester 1, you will prepare, administer, analyze and present a larger statistical project. These two projects will represent ~20% of your Semester 1 grade.
At the end of Semester 2, you will complete a large, summative project. You will receive data from a researcher from the community. You will analyze this data and prepare a written report for your “client”. You will also present your project to the class. This project will represent ~25% of your Semester 2 grade. You can see more details about these projects by clicking on links to the left.
All three projects are mandatory. If a student fails to complete any of the projects, no credit will be given for the course.

My prep period is period 1 this year.
