The Big 4+ Sportsman's Club held their annual spring trap shoot at their clubhouse in Long Lake on Saturday, April 20. There were 2 events, a 50-Bird Lewis Class shoot and a meat shoot. Despite the near record cold and snow still on the ground, there were 44 entries in the 50-Bird shoot. The shoot paid out 5 classes and the winner of each class won $61.60. Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot-offs. A nasty wind prevented even the best shooters from breaking all 50 targets, but there will still some pretty good scores. The class winners and their scores were: Bernie Behlke (Deerbrook) with 49, Tim Kalata (Argonne) with 46, Gary Schadrie (Tipler) with 44, John Brown (Dunbar) with 42 and Jaden Streu (Long Lake) with 40. There was also a consolation prize for scores under 38. Dennis VanOoyden (Antigo) survived a 5-string shoot-off to win $44. Lewis Class shooters could also enter for High Gun, Long Run and 25-Straight on each trap, with ties being broken by sudden-death shoot-offs. Ed Borske (Alvin) won all of them, winning a total of $248.

The Big 4+ would like to thank all of those who braved the cold and wind to help make the shoot a success, with a special thanks to the volunteer workers.
