No 50's at the Spring 2014 50-Bird Shoot

The Big 4+ Sportsman's Club held their annual spring trap shoot at their clubhouse in Long Lake on Saturday, April 19. There were 2 events, a 50-Bird Lewis Class shoot and a meat shoot. There were 29 entries in the Lewis Class shoot. The shoot paid out 5 classes and the winner of each class won $40.60. Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. Due to the cold and windy conditions there were no 50's shot. The winner of each class and their scores were Ed Borske (Alvin) with 49, Ed Borske with 47, Mark McHugh (Newald) with 42, Skip Ritchie (Long Lake) with 40 and Jim Becker (Two Rivers) with 38. There was also a consolation shoot for scores under 39. Josie McHugh (Newald) survived a 5-string shoot off to win $29. Lewis Class shooters could also enter for High Gun, Long Run or 25 on each trap. Each option paid $34 and ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. Dick Helbach (Waupaca) won 25 on Trap 1. Ed Borske cleaned up by winning the other 3 options.
