The Big 4+ Sportsman's Club held their annual membership picnic under beautiful skies at their clubhouse in Long Lake on Saturday, July 20. About 90 people turned out to enjoy a day of trap shooting, over $3,500 in raffles and good food.

Winners of the Big 4+'s annual raffle were drawn at 4 PM. Numerous other prizes donated by area businesses and national manufacturers were also raffled off throughout the day.

The 50-Bird Lewis Shoot had 50 entries this year and paid out 5 classes, with each class winning $70. Shooters were allowed two entries. Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. The winners and their scores were: Curt Riege (Watertown) with 50, Ed Borske (Alvin) with 47, Rea Dorzok (New Holstein)) with 45, LeRoy Dorzok (Tipler) with 44 and Douglas O'Hagan (Marquette) with 40. A consolation shoot was also held, the winner was Ben Niehaus (Florence) for $50. Lewis class shooters could also play options, which paid $48 each. Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. Bill Kramer (Lena) won 25 straight on trap 1 and Sam Kalata (Argonne) won 25 straight on trap 2. Curt Reige (Watertown) was High Gun, and Rea Dorzok (New Holstein) won the Ladies High Gun category. Numerous steak, bacon and ribs competitions were held resulting in spirited shoot offs.

The Big 4+ Sportsman's Club extends their thanks to all who helped make this year's picnic a success. A special thanks goes to the volunteer workers and also the businesses who donated prizes and help to sell raffle tickets.
