Widespread Violence

Widespread Violence and Civil Unrest Since the 1960's.

Violence will increase in the Last Days. "Since the 1960's, violent crime has increased more than 300 percent. Ninety-nine percent of Americans will be victims of theft at least once in their lives. Eighty-seven percent will have property stolen three or more times". (The Index of Leading Cultural Indicators, William J. Bennett, p18,20)

"No society will long remain open and attached to peaceable politics and the decent and controlled use of public force if fear for personal safety is the ordinary experience of large numbers". --Alexander Bickel, Yale University

(Mat 24:37-39) "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. {38} "For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, {39} "and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

The people of Noah's time were going about their daily activities without repenting of their evil ways. Can we say we are living any differently? The great wickedness around us is being viewed as normal.

Description of the "Days of Noah":

(Gen 6:5) Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

(Gen 6:11) The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

(Gen 6:13) And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

The End Times spoken of in the Bible or the Latter Days is a general period prior to and including a seven year tribulation period. The span of this period would be one generation. (See Topic: Israel, The Fig Tree for more information) The beginning of the generation is spoken of by Jesus in Matthew along with many of the signs of His coming.

Note: Latter Days, End Times, and Last Days are used interchangeably.
