Notes England schools international, attended Silver Jubilee School, on leaving which he joined Man Utd. Manager BTFC in 77/8 season-had retired as a player by then but made a few appearances to cover gaps at the end of the season, included in above stats. Also managed Dunstable (sacked 10/76), Hillingdon, [then BTFC], Barnet (twice), Maidstone, Southend, Birmingham and Peterborough, later chairman and owner of Peterborough, now (2012) director of football there. Cost Luton £35,000 (plus other players) from Man Utd 4/70, Brighton £20,000 from Luton in 1973 (signed by Brian Clough), and Watford £10K from Brighton, June 74. PM in second spell at Wootton. 93 -97-played into his late 40s.

Brother Bobby played for Coventry, Arsenal, Wolves (twice), WBA,, Bristol C, West Ham, Bristol Rovers and Hereford, later managed Bristol Rovers (twice), Coventry (twice), Wimbledon, WBA, Cardiff, Cheltenham and Wales.
