Older brothers Harry (Merthyr Town) and Tom (Chesterfield, Preston, Swansea and Merthyr Town) played pre-1939, Nephew Laurance (known as Dai) played for Wolves, Walsall and Bournemouth either side of WW2.
(Some online sources confuse him with his namesake, the famous amateur centre foward (1879-1954) who played for Spurs, Chelsea and England before WW1. They were not related, but possibly the younger Woodward's father had the older in mind when naming his son?)
