(Hugman spells his name STAROCSIK,  but only one press report in the British Newspaper Archive uses this version. On his marriage certificate entry and in the telephone books of the period he is STAROSCIK).

Notes  With Folkestone "for two and a quarter seasons" and had scored over 100 goals when signed by Fulham Jan 36 for a "comparatively large" fee(Daily Mirror 8 Jan 36). One wartime cap for Wales v England, 1940/1. To Millwall Feb 47, Brentford July 48, Aldershot Feb 50, BTFC May 51. Coached mid-week for Biggleswade and Potton while at BTFC.  To Biggleswade early 1955 (in exchange for Percy Duggan).  By 59/60 on Fulham's coaching staff. looking after their "A" team in Metropolitan League. Died???   Older brothers Harry (Merthyr Town) and Tom (Chesterfield, Preston, Swansea and Merthyr Town) played pre-1939, Nephew Laurance (known as Dai) played for Wolves, Walsall and Bournemouth either side of WW2.

 (Some online sources confuse him with his namesake, the famous amateur centre foward (1879-1954) who played for Spurs, Chelsea and England before WW1. They were not related, but possibly the younger Woodward's father had the older in mind when naming his son?)

Resigned Oct 79 for work reasons, succeeded by Norman Cooley. Manager at Kempston again from Dec 82 to summer 84, then manager at Raunds.
