Made one playing appearance for Staines in Wyld's testimonial match at end of 66/7. Continued to turn out in charity matches for Top Ten XI. Died 2002.

Notes  To Bournemouth summer 1938, Luton Jan 46, Shrewsbury summer 53, Watford summer 54, BTFC summer 55, released two years later. Died 1992. Some uncertainty re place of birth-Hugman gives birthplace as Oswestry. However, a report in the Ripley and Heanor News for 11 March 1938 says: "W H Cooke, who hails from Sheepbridge and plays for Danesmoor Welfare in the Derbyshire Senior League, has gone to Bournemouth on a month's trial".  Programme notes for the Arsenal cup tie in 55/6, presumably supplied by BTFC, give birthplace as Chesterfield.  Trefor Jones's Watford history site (http://watfordfcarchive.co.uk/downloads/players/+Clark-Crussell.pdf) also adopts this view. Hugman also lists him as "Harry Cooke" though he gives William Henry as his given names. ?may be confusing him with someone else of same name

Player coach at Wootton from start 79/80, later became player manager in sucession to Alan Wright. At Kempston (as player) again December 82 (re-signed by Wright after he rejoined club).  At Sharnbrook 2/84, to Raunds (rejoining Alan Wright again) summer 84. Had re-signed for Bridgewater in summer 57 but released without playing when he moved to London for work reasons, joined BTFC July 57, to Kettering Dec 59.  To Clacton (first spell) summer 60.   Tunbridge Wells Nov 61,   to Corby  Jan 62,  second short spell at Clacton 8/62.  Made one-off return to BTFC for Reserves v Rainham Town in Dec 62,  scoring in a 2-0 win.  To Biggleswade 1/63, to Rothwell as player in 64/5, became PM there summer 65, left 10/66. Later worked in the mining industry in West Africa, Papua New Guinea and Australia, becoming managing director of a civil engineering and mining site rehabilitation company based in the Northern Territory. Also managed Sydney Olympic FC, bringing them to play a friendly at The Eyrie in November 1980. Retired to the Gold Coast, Queensland where he died on 9 Nov 2005. With Sandy in 46/7, Potton in 10/47 but back at Sandy by early 51. Possibly related to Dennis, who also came from Sandy, and/or to the otherwise unknown CF of the same name who played in 45/6?

Notes  Played for Eynesbury v BTFC in FA Cup in 51/2, aged only 18. To Spurs as apprentice pro 12/51 before returning to Eynesbury and Peterborough from 1954. Scored 171 goals in 205 appearances for Peterborough in the Midland League.  Badly injured in car accident in 61/2. £1500 fee on signing for BTFC in summer 63. Became reserve coach 65/6 but left summer 66. Returned as reserve coach 1969/70, and played a few times for reserves in emergencies. Died 1986.
