Evaluate, critique, and discuss new research in the field; assess library or information problems and identify an appropriate research method
Growing evidence presented through research that roving reference services in libraries allows librarians to serve more patrons and spend more time on reference inquiries prompted a research proposal incorporating the elements of conducting research in library and information science. The learning that took place included theoretical principles and practical procedures for planning, designing, conducting, analyzing, and evaluating research using both qualitative and quantitative methods. I also learned to be a better consumer and critic of published research literature, which aided in my foundational knowledge of reference and user services.
