Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning by participating in professional development activities and disseminating new information to colleagues and patrons
In order to continue learning and investing in my professional development as a library and information science professional for the rest of my life, I joined the American Library Association, Special Libraries Association, Society of American Archivists, and Oregon Libraries Association. Through these memberships I receive useful information to help me stay up-to-date in the industry. Much of what I learn already comes from information these groups disseminate and events they hold.
After graduating, I plan to work as a chat reference librarian for L-Net, teach computer classes for Multnomah County Library, and attend a two-day class about Library of Congress subject headings.
