Obituary

Chloie Arinda Hancock Curtis, 94, formerly of 254 Taft, died Sunday afternoon Oct ___1981, at the Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was born May 13, 1887, at Cambridge, Idaho, to Charles B. and Louisa Almeda Shurtliff Hancock. She attended schools at Cambridge.

On Dec 14, 1905, she married Hyrum Alma Curtis in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Curtis died May 14, 1930. After their marriage, they lived in the Blackfoot, Firth and Cambridge area until Feb 1918 when they moved to Pocatello. They have resided here for 63 years.

Mrs. Curtis was a lifetime active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she had served as Primary President and as a Relief Society Visiting Teacher for 50 years. She was a charter member of the Pocatello LDS Fifth Ward. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Survivors include four sons: Vinal A., J. Charles, Myron Lavon, and Milon D. Curtis, all of Pocatello; two daughters: Ora Daniels, Jerome, and Mrs. Earl (Wanda) Wacaster, Pingree; 46 grandchildren; 101 great-grandchildren; and 26 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, seven daughters, six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Pocatello LDS Fifth Ward Chapel on Cedar and Poole with Bishop Clarence Jones officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Manning Funeral Chapel. On Wednesday friends may also call at the Ward Chapel from 10 a.m. until service time.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the Firth Cemetery.
