Person on far right is Cora Louisa Curtis

My mom was a very cheerful lady, even though she had serious health problems. She had lots of friends. She died at the age of 39 after a long battle with Nephritis and uncontrolled Diabetes, and an unknown ailment similar to Irritable Bowel.

I recall one time when I left work to visit her in the hospital, as I walked down the hall to her room, I heard laughter coming from her room. When I walked in, there were several nurses talking and laughing with her. She had that effect on people – they enjoyed being around her.

My short memories of her are mainly family outings where we went picnicking, camping, and one trip on a train to Ironton , Ohio to visit my Dad’s family.

Another memory was how thrilled she was with her only grandchild, Bryan. He was two years old when she died and she loved being with him. Even when she was bed-ridden, her happiest times were when she could spend time with him.
