This is a medium to large apple and very tasty with, as its name indicates, a somewhat berry-like taste. The texture is firm and tender, but not crisp. The flesh of this apple does not go brown after cutting but remains relatively creamy in appearance. It is also said to keep well for an early ripening apple.
According to Wikipedia, Liveland Raspberry "is an old cultivar of domesticated apple, first recorded before 1870[1], that originated from the Livland Governorate of eastern Europe and was introduced into the United States of America in 1883."
We have only grown Liveland Raspberry as a graft on a mature tree, but from what we read, the trees tend to be small, upright and compact.
