The Course
Golf VillaMayor club has become number one in the province of Salamanca and number two in the community of Castilla y León by number of federal licenses.
Its location in Vega de Salamanca, upscale residential complex, the proximity to the city of Salamanca, the fact of having a four-star hotel in the middle of the golf course are some of the keys to success that help explain why This is a unique place for leisure and relaxation.
Golf VillaMayor consists of two courses, one 18-hole par 72 and a 9 holes (Pitch and Putt) par 27.
The first course was approved by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation in 1999 and ranks among the ten fields with higher Slope rating of Spain, according to RFEG
The first nine holes are designed purely English, which has respected the natural topography of the enclave itself, with two lakes that come into play on several holes. The second nine holes are distinctly American design, being the most rugged terrain, creating the best images of this great country.
The protection of the greens and numerous bunkers, requiring the player great skills and deploy the best strategy game, requiring the use of every club in the bag.
The layout designed by D. Juan Catarineu spans 74 hectares of land including pair 3 course.
The designer and builder of the camp have respected the natural environment of the area as well as planting 10,000 trees of different species such as pine, chestnut, walnut, palm and olive trees.
All these technical features make Golf Villa Mayor in a suitable club to host amateur and professional tournaments. Over the years Golf Villa Mayor has hosted the most prestigious amateur tournaments such as the Rolex Tournament, Audi Quattro Cup, Lady Golf, Volvo Masters Amateur, Falcon Travel, etc. We have also hosted several times the championship of Spain Under-16, children and boys. In the professional field have received some evidence Circuit Professionals Federation of Madrid.
