I was able to spend quite a bit of time with the car over spring break!
The wiring is quite a rats nest. Partially because the harness is too long (it fits the roadster all) and partially because there isn't much room under the dash. If i hadn't gone with the A/C option there would be quite a bit more room but this is Texas, that wouldn't work for me.
This is under the dash showing the bottom side of the A/C unit and the top of the tranny. The big wire tube in the middle runs from the engine harness to the computer. I removed about 10" of wire to make this fit much better. It will still be a very tight fit to get the transmission tunnel installed.
This is the center well of the 4.6L with the intake manifold removed. I took it off so I could clean up all the wires. As bad as this looks it is MUCH better than it was with exposed wires.
This looks crazy but it is really cleaned up (and not done yet). What you see here (from left to right) is the stock under dash harness. The plugs on the bottom left will connect to the gauges. In the middle is the Ford computer and on the right are the wires from Ford computer/control pack. These are mounted (w/ the Power Distribution Block) to the front of the A/C unit (blue tape).
