The control arms need to be powder coated to I had to send them out and subsequently delayed my start. I like that I get to choose the colors but would have been happy enough with FFR just doing them black with the rest of the chassis so I wouldn't have to worry about it. Also, I didn't realize at first that the radiator bracket (last picture) needs to be installed as part of the upper control arm. I had not sent those out for coating since they were shipped with the cooling fan box and not with the suspension. So those are now out getting power coated and further delaying the suspension build. I also still haven't received the front coil overs. A little disappointing, but I'll move on to other components.
After getting this far I decided to also powder coat the zinc lower control arm adjusters. Research said powder coating over zinc is fine, but only time will tell. I decided to do it silver also.
Installed the upper and lower control arms.
Getting the control arms into the welded frame brackets was pretty difficult. I tried to slightly bend out the the lower left bracket and it actually bent (too) easily. This made sliding the control arm in easy with minimal damage to the power coating. When I torque the bolts down it will pull the bracket back tight.
This is the passenger side before I put the upper control arm in place. I had jumped ahead and put in the steering rack. This was in the way so I had to take it back off so that I could reach the control arms easier for banging (I love the dead blow hammer) into place.
Holding the radiator bracket (through I think I'm holding it backwards).
