LOYALTY

Devotion to people and ideas we care about.

To show devotion to family, friends, country, and ideals.

“Some friendships do not last,

but some friends are more loyal than brothers.”

-Proverbs 18:24

Discussion / Journal Questions:

  1. What does it mean to be loyal to a friend, your family, or your country?

  2. How can you demonstrate loyalty to a friend?

  3. What does the United States mean to you?

  4. What is most important to you in a friend - loyalty, generosity, honesty, and why?

  5. Think of your favorite Disney movie - which character or characters display loyalty? Explain.

  6. Compare and contrast “loyalty” and “dependability”.

  7. K-3: Read and discuss loyalty as it is displayed in one of the following books: “A Sick Day For Amos McGee”, by Philip Stead, “Otis”, by Loren Long, or “Henry and Mudge, the First Book” by Cynthia Rylant.

4-8: Have students find Bible Verses that relate to this month’s virtue, loyalty, and then create a classroom poster with everyone’s contribution.
