APRIL’S VIRTUE

COURAGE

To act according to what is right, even when it is hard or scary.

Courage is bravery in the face of fear.

  1. What is the most courageous thing you have ever done?

  2. Make a list of people in history that have shown extreme courage. Explain how they were courageous people.

  3. Compare and contrast bravery and courage.

  4. If you witnessed someone being picked on, what would you do to stand-up for them? Does this type of action take courage?

  5. Make a list of careers that require courage.

  6. How can you show courage in school?

  7. Complete the following sentences: “Every day, I am afraid of …” and “Every day, I show courage by …”

  8. How is courage related to all the other virtues? Describe how courage might come into play when another virtue is challenged in some way.
