December Wonder

DECEMBER’S VIRTUE

WONDER

An ability to see the “Wow” in the small and big moments.

Appreciation for what is precious and inspiring.

“Look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see, and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious.”

-Stephen Hawking

Discussion / Journal Questions:

1. Go to the website, wonderopolis.org. Once there, go to the exploring wonders tab. Find a question that makes you curious and read about it. Report your findings back to the class.

2. What is something in God’s creation that fills you with awe? Explain why you feel this way.

3. If you could study a subject that you have never had the opportunity to study, what would you choose? Explain your choice, using specific reasons and details.

4. Plan a trip to a place that you've always been curious about. Where will you go, what will you do while you are there, and what do you think you will discover from this trip?

5. Some would say that curiosity and wonder are not fixed but can be increased and decreased. What contributes to the development of wonder and what contributes to its decline?
