Thoughts from Island of the Blue Dolphins

Fifth graders have been reading Island of the Blue Dolphins as part of their survival story unit. In this activity, they chose a character from which to think about big events in the story from that character's point of view. Stepping in to the character's shoes allowed them to think deeply and demonstrate their knowledge of the character and the story. They shared their thoughts below.
