Exam Script Reviews

You will need to register your interest to review your sessions in advance.  

Please note, that these sessions are for reviewing any exams that were completed in-person. You cannot request to view any exams that were completed online. 

Important Information

At the University of Sheffield, students are entitled to access their examination scripts following the examinations and after official notification of marks has been made by the University. Most students have a pretty good idea of what they got right and what they got wrong already, so this will be of little benefit. However, for those whose performance was quite different from what they expected, this opportunity may be useful for helping them to understand why they under-performed.

These sessions are run so that students who wish to can review the answers they gave during an exam. The exam scripts do not contain feedback or model answers, they simply provide a permanent record of the marks awarded. You should not expect to find any additional guidance on the script.

Students are not permitted to challenge the outcome of their paper on academic grounds (i.e. if they feel that their work deserved a better mark). If you consider that you have found an error in the addition of your marks total, then you should raise this with the member of staff running the session. Please note, however, that all mark totals have already been checked by School staff and that the School reserves the right to scale marks where appropriate. As such your overall module mark may not correspond directly with the mark on the exam paper.

All sessions are run under exam conditions and will be invigilated by staff from the School. You will have ten minutes to review the scripts of your choosing. Papers may not be removed or copied (including photographs) and students are not permitted to talk, make any marks on the paper or take any notes during the session. All personal belongings (including mobile phones) should be left in the indicated area of the room. Students may access only their own papers and may not compare papers with other students attending the session.

All students attending an exam script review session must:

·   Bring their U-Card for identification purposes.

·   Arrive on time for their session.
